Free Coffee in Chatswood as Scoot Brings Pop-Up Cafe to Town

Chatswood residents can enjoy free coffee and tea inspired by overseas destinations when budget airline Scoot brings its travelling pop-up cafe to the suburb for a one-day event this weekend.

The Scoot Stopover Cafe will visit the Chatswood Pedestrian Precinct on Sunday, 1 November 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., offering complimentary drinks and opportunities to win travel vouchers and merchandise.

The event marks the final stop of a four-day Sydney tour, which begins at Circular Quay on Thursday before moving to Parramatta Square on Friday and Martin Place on Saturday. Each location will host the cafe for a limited number of hours.

Where to find the Chatswood pop-up

The Chatswood appearance will bring the travelling cafe to one of the North Shore’s main pedestrian shopping areas.

Located along Victoria Avenue, Chatswood Mall connects the railway and metro interchange with surrounding shopping centres, restaurants and The Concourse. The precinct regularly accommodates markets, temporary stalls and public activities.

Willoughby City Council identifies several areas within the mall suitable for commercial promotions and sampling activities, including locations near the interchange and the main shopping district.

Visitors travelling by public transport can reach the area through Chatswood Interchange, which serves Sydney Trains, Sydney Metro and bus services. The pedestrian mall extends east from the interchange along Victoria Avenue, providing access to the suburb’s central shopping district.

The Scoot Stopover Cafe will operate from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, with free entry and no advance booking listed as necessary.

Entry is free, and the published event listing indicates that bookings are not required. The organisers have not specified how many complimentary drinks will be available.

Free drinks and travel prizes on offer

Scoot is replacing the conventional cafe menu with coffee and tea creations inspired by destinations across its international flight network.

The published event information does not identify the individual drinks or the destinations that inspired them. Scoot’s route network covers more than 80 destinations across 18 countries in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Europe.

Visitors will also have an opportunity to spin a promotional wheel for the chance to win Scoot travel vouchers and branded merchandise.

The value of the vouchers, number of prizes and full participation conditions have not been detailed in the publicly available event information. Prizes are not guaranteed, and visitors may wish to check the conditions before participating.

Airline brings promotion to Sydney streets

Scoot’s Australian general manager, Adam Kelly, has explained that the travelling cafe is intended to introduce the airline to potential customers while providing opportunities for direct conversations about travel.

Kelly said the pop-up would allow staff to hear from people about their holiday plans and destination preferences, providing feedback that could help the airline better understand Australian travellers.

The campaign forms part of Scoot’s efforts to engage customers outside conventional airline advertising. The Singapore Airlines-owned budget carrier has previously used themed aircraft and entertainment partnerships, including collaborations involving Pokémon and Spider-Man, to reach different audiences.

The Sydney promotion brings the airline’s international travel theme into public spaces rather than relying solely on advertising or airport-based activities. Visitors can sample the drinks without purchasing an airline ticket.

Further event information is available through the Scoot Stopover Cafe listing.
