Shoppers visiting Westfield Chatswood will have a new retail destination to explore when DAISO Japan and its sister brand, Standard Products, open a dual-concept store on Saturday, 4 July.

Located on Level 5, the new store will bring together DAISO’s range of homewares, beauty products, stationery, snacks and seasonal items with Standard Products’ collection of design-led everyday goods. The Chatswood location will be the second dual-concept store in Sydney, following the opening of a similar format at Westfield Parramatta in 2024.
Two Japanese retail concepts in one location
The Chatswood store will house both DAISO Japan and Standard Products under one roof. The DAISO store will occupy approximately 531.5sqm, while the Standard Products section will span approximately 268sqm.
DAISO is known for its range of household goods, stationery, beauty products, snacks and seasonal merchandise, while Standard Products focuses on products for the home and everyday living.
According to DAISO and Standard Products, the Standard Products section will stock approximately 2,000 original items across categories including tableware, travel goods, stationery, cleaning products and home organisation.
The company says its range includes Japan-made and locally sourced products, with award-winning designs recognised by Japan’s Good Design Awards.
A spokesperson for DAISO and Standard Products said Chatswood was chosen because of the area’s appreciation of Japanese culture and lifestyle. The Chatswood opening continues the brands’ expansion in Australia. In addition to the dual-concept store at Westfield Parramatta, similar locations have opened at Melbourne Midtown and Westfield Belconnen in Canberra.
Opening weekend giveaways
To mark the opening, the retailer will hold giveaways throughout the first weekend of trade. The first 100 customers waiting at the Level 5 store entrance from 10 am on Saturday, 4 July will receive a complimentary DAISO tote bag and a Japanese snack.
The first 100 customers who spend more than $50 will also receive a Standard Products tote bag. Additional giveaways are planned throughout the opening weekend.

The stores are scheduled to trade from 9.30 am to 6 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 9.30 am to 6.30 pm on Wednesday, 9.30 am to 9 pm on Thursday, 9 am to 6 pm on Saturday and 10 am to 6 pm on Sunday.
