Chatswood residents can enjoy free 90-minute bathhouse sessions as Escape Bathhouse celebrates its first birthday, with voluntary donations supporting women and children escaping domestic and family violence.

The complimentary sessions will take place on Monday, 26 October 2026, between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Bookings were scheduled to open at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 21 October, with a maximum of three guests per booking. Places are limited and subject to availability, according to the official anniversary offer.

Visitors will not be required to pay an admission fee but are invited to donate an amount of their choice to Mary’s House Services. Escape Bathhouse says every dollar collected during the event will go directly to the charity.

The birthday offer allows locals to experience the bathing facilities at 989 Pacific Highway without the usual admission charge. A standard 90-minute weekday session is advertised at $65 on the venue’s published pricing page.

The facilities include a magnesium mineral pool, traditional sauna, steam room, cold plunge baths and relaxation areas. Guests can move between the hot and cold bathing spaces at their own pace.

Supporting a North Shore domestic violence refuge

Mary’s House Services is a community-funded organisation providing refuge accommodation, counselling, housing assistance and other support for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence.

Founded in 2016, the organisation has provided more than 20,000 safe room nights over the past decade. It has also announced plans for a second refuge in Sydney’s northern suburbs, with the additional property expected to welcome its first families in 2027.

The new refuge will provide self-contained apartments and more than double the organisation’s accommodation capacity. Mary’s House has reported growing demand for specialist domestic violence services across Sydney’s northern suburbs.

More birthday offers throughout the week

Escape Bathhouse will extend its anniversary promotions beyond Monday’s complimentary sessions.

On Tuesday, 27 October, customers booking a paid 90-minute or two-hour bathhouse session can bring a friend at no additional charge. Customers must enter FRIEND in their booking notes to access the offer.

From Wednesday, 28 October, to Friday, 30 October, visitors booking eligible 90-minute or two-hour sessions will receive a $30 voucher towards their next visit of either duration.

Guests attending during the anniversary week will also enter a draw for a Salus Signature Facial and 60-minute bathhouse package. Promotional conditions apply, including restrictions on combining offers with gift cards or existing bookings.

Historic Chatswood landmark finds a new purpose

Escape Bathhouse opened on 25 October 2025 inside Seymour’s Building, a Spanish Mission-style landmark constructed in 1929 at the corner of Pacific Highway and William Street.

The property previously operated as a service station and retains distinctive architectural details, including terracotta roof tiles, arched openings, decorative parapets and ornamental columns.

Founders Cam and Tasch D’Arcy, who also established Sierra Escape in Mudgee, transformed the former roadside property into a two-level wellness facility while retaining much of the building’s historic character.

The restoration preserved and repaired original architectural features where possible, while introducing modern bathing facilities behind the existing façade.
