I am pleased to announce the appointment of Cass Johnson as our Marketing and Events Manager at Chatswood Golf Club.
Cass brings experience in event management, customer service and business development to the Club including roles at the Watsons Bay Hotel in their Functions and Events Team and at David Jones over a 7 year tenure. Cass is also about to complete a Bachelor in Business with a minor in Sport Management and Event Management at UTS. The key objectives of this newly created role is to drive activity and revenue in our Clubhouse via private and corporate functions, member events and to maximize existing opportunities including golf activity to benefit the Club. Cass will also oversee our marketing and communications program which includes increasing our online digital presence to ensure Chatswood Golf Club is visible and easily accessible for customers looking to book golf related activity, functions or

We will cover areas such as the financial position; strategic plans and activities of the Board; operational and management initiatives from our General Manager Aaron Vatner; and update on the Watermark Project from the Watermark Directors.

A reminder that all Golfers are required from Tuesday 4 September to log-in and register to view handicaps and their handicap histories on the GA website. This can be a one off process and we have provided the link below which details the reasons behind the initiative along with an FAQ to assist members.

Cass Johnson – Functions and Marketing Manager
Cass joined the team at Chatswood Golf Club in October 2018 in newly created role.
And has studied both Sports Management and Event Management at UTS. Cass is a keen sports woman enjoying all water related sports. Cass is responsible for the management of all Functions & driving all Marketing activity for the Club.

Additional golf carts: The Club is in the process of leasing three additional petrol golf carts as soon as possible. Cart demand has increased with stronger public player support and growing patronage from voucher and golf groups plus continuing member demand especially during hot summer playing conditions. Members should note that while our cart contingent rises to 15 bookings are made on a first come/first served basis so early contact with the Golf Shop is advisable.
Summer Singles: The strong field entered in the Summer Singles event received some additional excellent news. Callaway Golf has committed to partnering the Club by offering a $500 voucher to the winner and a $250 voucher to the runner up to be spent on Callaway products. The Club is grateful to Callaway for this outstanding support. Good golfing to all entrants.

Dear Members,
Thank you to those members who have renewed their membership for next season. We have received a positive response to the 2018/19 Membership Renewal process with the current season ending on Sunday 30th September, 2018. We encourage all members who have not yet renewed to do so to enjoy another 12 months of Chatswood Golf Club membership. A reminder that 2018/19 Chatswood Golf Club Bag Tags are also available for collection from Reception for those members who have renewed or recently joined the Club for next season.

Medley Stableford – Public Holiday Monday
Due to the public holiday on Monday, our office will be closed on 1st October, 2018. Members wishing to play golf are reminded that there is a Medley Stableford Competition available for you to join.
Club Championships
Members are reminded that the Club Championships commence on Saturday 13 October and run for 4 consecutive weeks.
1st round – Saturday 13th October – 7am-12:30pm
2nd round – Saturday 20th October – 7am-12:30pm
3rd round – Saturday 27th October – 7am-12:30pm
NOTE: TOP EIGHT PLAYERS IN EACH GRADE TO PLAY IN SEEDED GROUPS
4th and Final round – Saturday 3rd November – 11:30am -12:30pm
Sunday Competition Start Time Trial
Members are advised that the Match Committee have decided to trial a revised start time for the Sunday Competition play.
Effective from Sunday 14 October, the Sunday Competition will commence with the first tee time available from 8.28am.
This trial will allow the Club to maximise Sunday morning
MELBOURNE CUP AT CHATSWOOD GOLF CLUB
This year we have an 8am Shotgun Start followed by a seafood lunch and champagne on arrival.
All the usual fun activities including prizes for best hat & tie, sweeps and raffles.
A great opportunity for you and your partner, family, friend or work colleague to come and socialize.

PENNANT UPDATE
Last Sunday the Mixed Pennants team managed a hard fought win over The Coast, played at Chatswood.
Jacqui and Dean, Steve and Hannah really had to fight hard for their wins.
For Russell and myself it was an easier day out.
Tony and Anne Jackson also to be commended on a win as reserves.
My thanks to the players who worked as a team, and worked for the team and for the Club.
The disappointment of The Coast was clear to see, and our games away are going to be very tough.
Next Sunday we are playing at Bardwell Valley.
